The London Oratory ("the Congregation of the Oratory of St Philip Neri in London") is a Catholic community of priests living under the rule of life established by its founder, Philip Neri (). It is housed in an Oratory House, next to the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Brompton Oratory) in the Brompton Road, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London, SW7. The Congregation of the Oratory is not a teaching order; Oratorians have directed many colleges, notably de Juilly; but neither this nor instruction in seminaries was ever the sole object of the congregation, though it was the first to organize seminaries .

The Oratory can continue to contribute to the contemporary liturgical movement (which resumes and extends the older liturgical movements of the twentieth century) by its care to institute the best liturgical practices. The Toronto Oratory and the English Oratories, for example, celebrate both the rites of the Ordinary Form and the Usus Antiquior. Emphasizing the large number of social contexts within which oratorios were heard, Smither discussed examples in Italy such as the Congregation of the Oratory, lay contrafraternities, and educational institutions. He examines oratorio performances in German courts, London theaters and English provincial festivals, and the Parisian Concert.

The Life of Saint Philip Neri: Apostle of Rome, and Founder of the Congregation of the Oratory; From the Italian of Father Bacci of the Roman Oratory avg /5(2).   BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom, August 4, (LifeSiteNews) — The Birmingham Oratory, a Catholic community in England celebrating Mass .
